Since November 3 2026 the accreditation of the Russian hosting provider Beget has been suspended. As a result the company cannot register new second‑level domains in the .RU and .РФ zones or accept domains from other registrars for service.
The suspension does not affect domains that were registered through Beget before the restriction; those must continue to be serviced and their owners do not need to take any action. The limits were introduced after a large‑scale cyber‑attack that destroyed much of Beget’s cloud infrastructure, with backups remaining for only about half of the VPS customers.
